This section specifies the abatement targets which must be in place for organizations awarded any CarbonNeutral® certification. Where an organization does not have an appropriate abatement target in place, it is permitted to set one during its GHG Assessment process. The certifier acknowledges that setting an appropriate reduction target may take more than 12 months, and therefore in the first year of achieving certification an organization must as a minimum have demonstrated material commitment and progress.
The organization must specify its reduction targets within a CarbonNeutral® Certification Target and Reduce Form. This Target and Reduce Form may be revised from time to time within the annual Protocol publication cycle. Visit www.carbonneutral.com/target-and-reduce-form for the most up to date version.
